Jayalalitha Amma: The Mother of the Poor

 

Jayalalitha Jayaraman was born on 24th of February 1948 and she died on 5th December 2016. She was an Indian actor and a popular politician who was a Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for fourteen years from 1991 to 2016.

Jayalalitha Death

Jayalalitha died of a Heart Attack on 5th December 2016.

 

 

All India Anna Fravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)

 

Jayalalitha was a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a Dravidian political party and she served as it’s General Secretary from 1989.

 

Jayalalitha was also called as AMMA (Mother)

In her home start, Tamil Nadu she is called as Amma (Mother) and Puratchi Thalaivi (Leader).

 

She was also called as the Leader of the Poor.

Jayalalitha’s Film Career

 

Jayalalitha was a popular film actoress in the 1960s. She was a reluctant actor, she had to join films because her mother urgued her to help support the family.

 

Jayalalitha was a prolific actor, she appeared in around 140 films since she started her acting career in 1961 til the end of her film carrer in 1980. Jayalalitha acted in Tamil, telugu and Kannada film industried.

 

Jayalalitha known for per versatility as an actor and for her dancing skills.

 

Jayalalitha became the Political Heir of M. G. Ramachandran (MGR)

Jayalalitha worked with several acotrs including M. G. Ramachandran, also known as MGR, apart from acting MGR was a politician and he went on to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Jayalalitha became the political heir of MGR and in 1989 she became the eader of the Opposition.
